Windows Server 2012 introduced SMB 3 to the world and Windows Server 2012 R2 extends those capabilities. In this presentation, MS Engineering talks about SMB 3.0 architecture and how it brings advanced capabilities to private cloud, hosters, and information workers in the enterprise for both scale-out application data services as well as traditional file servers. We will also outline the changes made in SMB 3.02 and what those mean to people who might have been waiting to get into the deep end of the pool. Finally, we’ll discuss the right (and wrong) ways to troubleshoot SMB 3.
